Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Short version: Vidonut edits your videos inside your own browser. We do not upload your videos, photos or audio to our servers, we don't ask you to create an account, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
1. Who we are
Vidonut ("we", "us") runs the website www.vidonut.com, a free online video editor and PDF text editor. If you have any question about this policy, write to contact@vidonut.com.
2. Your files stay on your device
When you open a video, image, audio or PDF file in Vidonut, it is read and processed by your browser on your own device. Editing, captions, translation, voices, background removal and exporting all run locally. Your files and the text in them are not sent to us.
3. What is stored in your browser
- Your project: the editor saves your current project in your browser (IndexedDB) so you don't lose work if the page closes. It is removed when you start a new project, or automatically after 7 days if you don't open it.
- AI models: when you use an AI feature, the model is downloaded once and kept in your browser's cache so it doesn't download again.
- Small settings: a few technical values, for example to show a helpful message if the page closed during a heavy task.
This data stays in your browser and we can't see it. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
4. Information we receive
Like every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) receives standard technical information when your browser loads our pages: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and fix problems, and is kept only for a short time.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to answer you.
We do not collect your name, we do not require an account, and we do not sell, rent or share personal information.
5. Services that deliver parts of the editor
To keep the site fast and free, some parts of the editor are downloaded from other services when you use them. Your browser requests the files directly, so these services see your IP address and browser, but none of your files or content are sent to them:
- Vercel: hosts the website.
- Google Fonts: provides the fonts.
- jsDelivr and unpkg: deliver open-source code libraries (for example the video encoder).
- Hugging Face: delivers the AI models for captions, translation and voices.
- Google Cloud Storage: delivers the model used for background removal.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy.
6. Cookies, analytics and ads
Vidonut does not use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and does not show ads.
7. Camera, microphone and screen
If you record with your camera, microphone or screen, your browser asks your permission first. The recording is made and kept on your device and is not sent to us.
8. Children
Vidonut is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
9. Your rights
Because we don't keep your files or an account, there is usually no personal data of yours on our side. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to ask what personal information we have about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. Write to contact@vidonut.com and we will answer.
10. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Because your files are processed on your device, they are as safe as your device and browser.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how Vidonut handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If we ever add a feature that sends your content to a server, the feature will say so clearly before anything is uploaded.
